The Biographical Paintings of 'Phags-pa (1235-1280) were made on Thang-ka - scrolls of cloth or silk, illustrating events from [the Buddha's] life. This series of exquisite religious paintings originally comprised thirty scrolls, but five of them were lost. The remaining twenty-five are now stored in the Sa-skya Monastery in Tibet.
