| Translating Lives - Anna Wierzbicka | |
| Wed 30 May 2007 | |
| Asia Bookroom is pleased to announce that we shall be hosting a presentation by Anna Wierzbicka on her latest book, Translating Lives, on the 30th of May. Translating Lives is an immensely moving collection of personal stories tracing the experiences of twelve people living in Australia who speak more than one language. Contributors, including Kim Scott and Eva Sallis, show how their experiences of language colour the way they relate to people and the way they see the world. Through their eyes, we learn how language, culture and identity are intrinsically linked.
When: 6 - 8pm, Wednesday May 30th. Where: Asia Bookroom, Lawry Place, Macquarie. ACT RSVP: For seating purposes by May 29 please. Phone 6251 5191. |
