Shanghai Architecture - Special Lecture from Author Anne Warr
Tue 18 Mar 2008
Shanghai architecture - love it or hate it you certainly can't visit Shanghai and be unaware of it! Strategically located at the mouth of the Yangzi River, Shanghai is one of the world's greatest trading metropolises, and today has more skyscrapers than the whole of the US West Coast. But this is only half the story. Shanghai is also one of the few cities in the world where the significant buildings from the 20's and 30's have not been demolished, and it remains an oasis of period architecture.

To celebrate the launch of her new book, Shanghai Architecture, Asia Bookroom is very pleased to host a special lecture by author Anne Warr, who will present an illustrated talk on the city's urban development, looking at some of the remarkable architectural features of this amazing city, as well sharing insights into the personalities of the architects.
