Meet the Author - Patricia Bernard

We look forward to hosting something a bit different on Thursday November 20 when author of many books, for both children and adults Patricia Bernard, will be speaking at Asia Bookroom.

Patricia's talk will examine the importance of research as employed in two of her most recent books, both of which have Asian themes. These two books, 'Claw of the Dragon', an historical adventure novel, aimed at teenagers and 'With the Kamasutra Under My Arm' a fast paced, often humorous account of a trip around India she and a friend made a few years ago (aimed at an adult audience), have in common lots of research. As an author Patricia aims to draw in audiences who may not have much knowledge of or interest in Asia and engage them in a good story, and then. almost without their knowing it is happening, informing and educating them about serious subjects such as Indian Mogul architecture and differences between cultures.

We have been reliably informed that Patricia Bernard's talks are not dull with lots of humour employed so it should be a good night! Make sure to join us at 6pm on the 20th of November. Particularly engaging for anyone interested in writing, India, teenage fiction and engaging people young and not quite so young with Asia or Asian/Australian historical relationship in general. See you there!

When: 6pm Thursday, November 20th.

Where: Asia Bookroom, Lawry Place, Macquarie. ACT. 2614

RSVP: Wednesday November 19 to 6251 5191 or books@AsiaBookroom.com
