Focus on Children's Picture Book Author/Illustrator Chen Jiang Hong

We are excited to announce that we now stock the beautiful works of this acclaimed author/illustrator. Since 1994, Chen Jiang Hong has been creating beautiful, entertaining, and deeply moving picture books. He draws on myths and legends from his home country of China and draws attention to the diversity of cultures and the beauty of art. Chen has said: It is important for me to bring the culture to which I am attached to life, to allow it to cross boundaries, and to allow others to be a part of it. I try to tell stories in such a way that they become universal. His books, which have been translated into many languages, have indeed been universally embraced. 2008 saw the premier of an opera based on The Magic Horse of Han Gan, and a film of Little Eagle is in the works.

Chen was born in the Chinese port of Tianjin in 1963 and grew up during the Cultural Revolution. He studied art in Beijing and Paris and has been living in the French capital as a freelance artist since 1987.
