Detailed double sided fabric map. Ankara, Turkey, Sheet North J36 shows southern Turkey with Meditteranian Sea. Sinop, Turkey, Sheet North K36 shows northern Turkey with Black Sea. Legend includes roads, railways, boundaries, airfields, geographic features. Scale 1:1,000,000. Edges slightly frayed. Maps such as these were issued to defence force personnel during conflict. They were sewn into their jackets so that in the event of an enforced landing over enemy territory the servicemen would be able to avoid capture and make their way to safe territory. Evasion maps were light and durable due to being printed on silk or fabric rather than paper.
