47 charts, sheets vary from approx. 27 x 21 inches to 30 x 50 inches (one is 22 x 18 inches), folded as issued. There are less than 10 maps with significant faults, all the other maps are in good to very good condition. The main map of the islands (#4200) has a crease at top right and lower left, the right margin is soiled with paper loss and a split just enters the map, small stain approx. 2 inches along right fold, soiling on verso. Two maps have paper loss to margins just affecting the border of the charts; approximately 4 other maps have some tears into the map area and soiling. Map numbers from 4200 to 4720. There are 2 duplicates: of #4229 and 4604. This collection represents an extensive mapping of the Philippine coasts and coastal area. Charts mark soundings in fathoms or feet and various natural and man-made features of the coastal area. One of the maps is not a Hydrographic Office map; it is titled: 'Seventh Amphibious Force Anchorage Chart. Philippine Islands. Cavite.' (When referring to this item please quote stockid 65135)
