12 striking black and white photographs and 6 colour photographs showing of Sri Lankan religious and cultural buildings. The photographs include the Hambamtota Mosque, Sigiriya frescoes, Galle Fort, Colombo Mosque (taken from across the road with cars adn passers-by in the foreground, Catholic Church in Mannar, Valveditturai Hindu Temple in Jaffna. All photographs were taken by Professor Basil Johnson Emeritius Professor of Geography at the Australian National University. Each photograph is captioned on the back by Professor Johnson. Black and white photographs measure 12.6 x 17.7 and the colour ones 8.7 x 12.4cm approximately. Professor Johnson is the author of a number of works on South Asia including "South Asia: Selective Studies of the essential geography of India, Pakistan and Ceylon" and most recently "Geographical Dictionary of India".
