The story of the Danish Expedition, 1761-1767, to Egypt, Arabia and Syria for which the intrepid German-Danish traveller and author Carsten Niebuhr was surveyor. He subsequently wrote the official report for the expedition of which he was the sole survivor. His maps were used throughout the next century.
