4pp, original wrappers, vertical fold down the middle, good copy. The initial meeting of the Movement for National Spiritual Mobilization was held in October 1937 at the Prime Minister's residence. The organisation was set up to keep a tight hold on the activities of 74 nationalist organisations which it sort to control. Later a further 19 such organisations were incorporated as well. The purpose of the organisation was very nationalist - boast production, encourage austerity, form and encourage volunteers to work for nationalist aims etc.

Prince Konoe was Prime Minister of Japan between June 1937 and January 1939. Throughout his prime ministership he tried to keep the military in check in China and on resigning stated that he was tired of being a "robot" for the military. (When referring to this item please quote stockid 152582).
