This book is a collotype reproduction of the earliest surviving example of Chinese narrative painting Gu Kaizhi's Admonitions of the Court Instructress which is now in the British Museum. Gu Kaizhi (c.345-406) was a legendary Chinese painter in the Jin Dynasty (265-420), who excelled at figure painting using delicate, fine lines.
