Black and white collotype plates, 16 folded leaves, bound in traditional Chinese stitched binding, original paper wrappers, paper title label upper cover. 29.5 x 38cm. This book shows reproductions of two handscroll paintings: Huang Gongwang's "Dwelling in Fuchun Mountains" and Wang Meng's "Reading Yijing near the Window in a Pine Grove" now in Zhejiang Provincial Museum. Huang Gongwang 黄公望 (1269-1354, zi: Zijiu 子久) and Wang Meng 王蒙 (1308-85, zi: Shuming 叔明) are two of the Four Masters of the Yuan Dynasty.
The copy of Wang Meng's "Reading Yijing near the Window in a Pine Grove" in the Zhejiang Provincial Museum is a fragment of the longer hand scroll which was separated in 1650. The main part of the scroll was bought by the Qianlong Emperor and is now in the Palace Museum, Taipei. (When referring to this item please quote stockid 157987).
