This copy of Shashin shūhō [Photography Weekly] 寫眞週報 (No.250) was issued on December 9th, 1942, to celebrate the first anniversary of the Great East Asian War. The cover image shows local police cadets and their instructor in Singapore. The magazine includes an image of the Raffles museum with the statue of Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles being removed from the pedestal (p.3); photos of young local people being trained to be leaders in Singapore by Japanese instructors (pp.4-5); photos of the Burma Defence Force [local armed force] trained in the Japanese style; photos of Hong Kong titled "Almost One Year after Hong Kong Returned to Asia" (pp.8-9); photos of fishing boats in Ambon (pp.12-13); photos of locals in Sumatra (pp.10-11); and photos of the Japanese Naval guard patrolling in the waterways in Central China (pp.17-19); and photos of people doing "rajio taisō [radio gymnastic exercises]" in Tokyo, Manila, Hong Kong, Guam, Batavia, and Rangoon (pp.20-21) These exercises are still practiced to this day.
