50 card leaves with 2 samples of striped kimono fabric tipped in on each leaf, samples measure 10.5 x 19cm. Metal spiral binding, embossed title in Japanese upper cover. 36.2 x 26cm. A few swatches are a little creased but otherwise in excellent condition. A sample book containing over 100 kimono fabric samples of vertical strips and checks. From the mid Edo era, 1688-1704, Japanese people worn striped kimonos as their everyday wear.
