Issued as a supplement by Asahi Graph, on 11 December Showa 31(1956). Special issue 17 (the 1687th issue). A little light browning, very good copy. 36 x 26cm. The Melbourne Olympics held in 1956 was the first Summer Olympic Games in the Southern Hemisphere. 67 countries attended and 21 events were held. Australia came third in the medal tally with 35 medals, after the Soviet Union and the United States. This magazine gives good coverage to the Japanese athletes with their pictures in competition and sightseeing throughout.

There are large feature pages on the swimming, gymnastics, wrestling. In the special feature on swimming, there are some photos showing the Japanese and Australian athletes applauding each other.
