Black and white sugoroku on newsprint, folded as issued. Evenly browned, folded, chipped at edges with minor loss, 55.4 cm x 79.5 cm. Published as a special supplement on1 January1915. This Japanese sugoroku game from over one hundere years ago features various "bizzare" peoples and their customs in the world. Events, customs and fashions in Russia, Serbia, Germany, Switzerland, Romania, England, Burma, West Africa, Melanesia,and Australian Indigenous people are featured in the game. The game goal was to reach the Daikokuten statue at Horyuji in Nara.
Two panels feature Australian aboriginal people. One panel shows the war dance with spears and body paitings and another is a photo of a Western Australian indigenous man with "sacred" head decoration. A comment points out that the head gear looks similar to the Japanese image of a thunder god. Two panels feature Melanesian people and their culture.
