A collection of letters written by Thomas Duer Broughton, Esq., the late commander of the resident's escort at the Court of Scindia. The intention of the letters, mainly to his brother in England, were to satisfy his brother's curiosities of his travels and experiences. The author certainly provides his brother with descriptive accounts of customs, festivals, weather and every other aspect of everyday life. The letters are lengthy but intriguing and informative.
