Black and white illustrations, one illustration torn out and loose without loss, xi + 111pp, cloth binding somewhat soiled and worn, large prize inscription dated 1924 front free endpaper, lower corner of pp31/32 torn with loss to eight lines of text, otherwise sound. Account of the conversion and life of "Everlasting Pearl", a Chinese woman, to Christianity. The author was born in Denmark migrating to California in the late 19th century. She wrote two other books: Big Mark: One of China's Boys, and A Great Door -- along with numerous articles about life in China. Anna died in 1939, in Yushan where she is buried on the chapel ground.
