Pictorial stiff card booklet containing an original $50 and an original $100 Yuan commemorative banknote issued to celebrate the forthcoming new century in 1999 by the People's Bank of China. Each bank note is mounted within a clear plastic sleeve between two pages and accompanied by a detailed description in both Chinese and English. Serial number of each note clearly visible at the lower left corner. Inside back cover features a bilingual description of the special security features of these notes. Some very light occasional browning on text otherwise as new. A very good copy of a collectable item. 20.8 x 22.7cm. The 50 Yuan note was issued on 20 September 1999 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the PRC. The design: Chairman Mao announced the founding of the PRC at Tiananmen rostrum (front); the globe, peaceful bird, lion, Chinese ornamental column (on reverse).
The 100 Yuan note was issued on 28 November 2000 for millennium and the dragon year. The design: the flight of dragon in Beihai (front); Beijing World Art Museum and Dunhuang frescos (on reverse). (When referring to this item please quote stockid 169270).
