Illustrated paper envelope browned and torn with some loss, double sided fukuwarai game board sheet with a tear on fold, uncut pieces for fukuwarai game in very good condition, two magic instructions on back envelope. Envelop size 17 x 23cm, Board sheet 52 x 32.5cm, face piece sheet 26 x 18cm. This game was sent to the frontline soldiers for their entertainment. Fukuwarai game is where a blind folded player places eyes, eyebrows, nose and mouth on an outline of a head to see how accurate the face can be reproduced. The double sided sheet features illustrations of a comedian, Yanagiya Kingoro (1901-1972), and a story teller, Hirosawa Torazo (1899-1964). Both entertainers were very popular in Japan from 1930s.
