Blue wrappers with papered spine 68pp typed manuscript with corrections in blue and red and three further pages of endorsements by eminent authorities. Loosely inserted in a Typed Letter with a handwritten note with instructions to send the manuscript to Professor A.L. Basham, initialled by the author. The spine is a little chipped and faded and bumped at the bottom, damp mark to the lower left edge and some discolouration to the edges but the text is clean.

Three pages at the rear give various opinions of the work: 'The work deals with the theme of Kiratarjuneya, the famous Sanskrit literary work.'
' The author is a great Sanskrit scholar and is thoroughly imbued with Sanskrit scholarship and knowledge .. in truth this is a great modern sanskrit literary work written in English.... episodes of both the Ramayana and the Mahabaratha have been used in combination with the story.'
The author states in the TLS that the work is intended to relieve the modern mind from an obsession with the path of Nivritti expounded in the Upanishads. Handwritten on the first page: 'Imprisoned Ray' Dedicated to The Holy Feet of Desikendra Sree Sree Chandrashekhara Bharati Swamigalavaru Sringeri. Permission graciously accorded on 7-2-1950.
