Parliamentary Paper (Commons Command Paper 360), printed on wove watermarked paper, 131pp, 31.8 x 22 cm bound into later stiff card wrappers with a title label, marbled fore edges, paginated in ink by an early hand, a very good copy of an early report.
It details negotiations with the Burmese Government following the invasion of Assam and and matters relating to the First Burma War. The indemnity imposed after the war was to leave Burma economically much weakened. The cost of the war and the heavy loss of life contributed to a severe economic crisis in India, and cost the British East India Company its privileges, including the monopoly of trade to China. A scarce original early Paper.
