This fine regional map shows Indonesia, Borneo, the Malay peninsula and a portion of the Philippines, published in this form as map no 2 in the second volume of Abbé Prevost's magisterial "Histoire générale des voyages...". Engraved map on watermarked laid paper, 24.7 x 28.5 cm, compass rose and decorative title-cartouche, original folds, early paper repair strengthening the lower inner corner and foot of the map, with some loss to the border, early owner's inked pagination to the top left, added spot colour (by a previous owner), small scorch-mark to the cartouche lower left, slight toning to the outer margin, but in very good condition.
