Two volume set of cookery textbooks designed for home economics teachers teaching 15 and 16 year old girls in their final two years of high school. The volumes were first published in 1926 and proven to be very popular with reprints being issued each year.

The text covers the basics, such as cooking rice, through to more sophisticated cooking for New Year celebrations. The recipes cover seasonal ingredients as well as Western style cooking and table settings for a formal dinner as well as Chinese cookery. Illustrations depict table settings for a tea and dinner parties, as well as various elaborate ways of folding napkins. A photograph of a model kitchen and its diagram are also included. These books offer an interesting insight into what was assumed knowledge for women running Japanese households in the 1930s.
