A view of Longwood, St. Helena, once the final resting place of the exiled Napoleon Bonaparte. Perry's squadron called at St. Helena in January, 1853 the crew visiting Napoleon's last residence at Longwood " In viewing the miserable building, where for more than five years, this extraordinary man resided... it is difficult to suppress a deep feeling of the instability of earthly glory."
