4 mimeographed papers stapled at upper corners, each stamped either as top secret or secret, 25 x 17.5 cm, Report No. 221: 55pp; Report No. 2025: 10pp; Report No. 2153: 14pp; Report No. 2274: 29pp. Paper browned and friable with minor chips or tears in places not affecting text, some neat washi repairs upper cover of one report, its lower cover detached but complete. An interesting and scarce group of reports.

These four research papers on merchant shipping and the Pacific War were issued between January and November 1942 by Sekai Keizai Chosakai (世界経済調査会), an authoritative research organisation which was established in 1941. Each paper examines and analyses the situations of merchant shipping in order to win the war. In Reports 2153 and 2274, various simulations on ship building and ship losses of Britain and the US are carried out. The reports were classified either as secret or top secret shown by the red stamps on the upper covers of each.
