Five House of Commons Command Papers, two sketch maps (in the reports for Hankow and Pakhoi) based on ordnance surveys, numerous tables, in all 118 pp (+ blanks), original plain stab-sewn title wrappers, 24.5 x 15.5 cm, edge wear and discolouration, the wrapper to one Report (Tachienlu) with tidemark to the upper edge and that for Shanghai a little creased and chipped at the foot, several unopened leaves in the Report for China, neat inked stamp of the University of Hull Library to the front wrappers, but an interesting group in very good condition.

Including analysis of trade, and commentary on customs and society by the serving British Consuls or their agents. De-accessioned from the University of Hull Library, sold with their permission.
