Folding manuscript map in ink and colour pencil on the reverse of an architectural blueprint, 67 x 55cm, occasional small stains at folds and spotting, a little creasing caused by careless folding but overall in good condition.

This intriguing manuscript map covers the south-western Pacific from Tokyo and Yokosuka in north to New Guinea in south. The main military bases, including Iwojima, Guam (titled on the map as 大宮島), Saipan, Chuk, Palau and Rabaul, are clearly marked and distances between them and Japan are marked in nautical miles. The Philippines, Timor and Celebes are also shown.
