This compact map of Tokyo was published in 1885 when Tokyo was developing into a major city quite rapidly. The Royal Palace and Royal properties are coloured in bright red. Major buildings and mansions are identified with their names. An inset map shows the city fire defence diagram. An inset illustration shows Asakusa area with Sensoji temple and its surrounding park. Charts on lower left corner give town names, train time table and fares and river boat service locations. Meiji 18.
