The author of this book on the basic principles and history of the Yasukuni Shrine, Kamo Momoki (1867-1941), was the head priest of Shrine between 1909 and 1938. The text covers a wide range of topics on the shrine, including origin of commemorative ceremonies, shrine gods, ceremonial calendar, shrine buildings, and involvement of the Royal family.
