Folding colour lithograph map, three inset maps, 54 x 78cm. Very good copy.

This delicately drawn and beautifully printed colour map was issued as a supplement to a Nagoya newspaper. Although it is not recorded, the publication year was likely 1904, during the first year of the Russo-Japanese War. The main map depicts Japan, Korea, China, and Russia, including Sakhalin. Railway networks (including planned lines) and road networks, along with detailed place names and topographical features, are marked. Three inset maps cover the following areas: a wider region of Asia, Port Arthur and Vladivostok. While the map does not depict the progress of campaigns, it covers the whole area where battles were fought between Russia and Japan on land and sea.
