A good copy of this classic guide to China in its considerably revised second edition. The first eleven chapters are devoted to the history, culture, geography and present conditions of China before the guide moves on to discuss travel in China. Divided into geographic areas such as Mukden (Fengtien) to Peking; Peking and Vicinity; Shanghai including Woo-sung; Hong Kong including Kow-loon and Macao; Canton (or Kwang-tung) etc, this comprehensive guide book gives details of hotels, restaurants, trade for each section as well as important aspects particular to the region such as under Nanking "Taiping Rebels"; Shanghai - "Foreign Concessions" and "Native City" and for Canton "Boat Communities". One of the best guides to China of the period.
