Ten Canberrans and the Sleeping Crocodile

Author and diarist Dr Stephen Utick discusses his book detailing a July 2010 trip to Timor-Leste by the Canberra Friends of Dili.

In this special Centenary of Canberra book event introduced by Yvette Berry MLA, author and diarist Dr Stephen Utick will present 'Ten Canberrans and the Sleeping Crocodile: A travel diary of Timor-Leste (East-Timor).'

Dr Utick, of Canberra Friends of Dili, has created a breathtaking panorama of Timor-Leste including vistas and stories featured in Australia for the first time. Whether you would like to visit this emerging nation on our doorstep, or you are an armchair traveller who is unlikely to go yourself, this event offers new insight into the Land of the Sleeping Crocodile.

The diary, priced at only $17.50, makes a wonderful memento of the Centenary, with proceeds towards humanitarian projects conducted with Dili, a friendship city to Canberra.
