A striking Chinese Cultural Revolution papercut on red paper loosely presented on paper backing. An image of Mao's head and collar is highlighted centrally and fits snugly into the sun, the bold rays extends behind him, drawing a clear analogy between the sun and Mao. Three sunflowers and a Chinese character "Loyalty" [忠] are featured under Mao's portrait. Very good. Blocks of text in Chinese lower section. Papercut measures 70.1 x 49.9cm.

This papercut represents the phenomenon of Mao cult, one of the most visible feature of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Every one of the slogans on this papercut echo the theme of unconditional praise and admiration of Chairman Mao.
