This handbill is a brief news report of Prince Naruhiko's visit to a Showa Kako factory in Oji, Tokyo, on 11 April 1939. . At the time the Prince was a Major General in the Imperial Army and Showa Kako were making chemicals. During his visit he viewed displays of gas masks and anti-poison equipment. He also inspected air-raid shelters and watched an air-raid training exercise. The photograph shows the Prince watching the training exercise on the Showa Kako ground.
