This book was first published in Japanese in 2019 as ‘Michibata no Ishi’. It features an group of Japanese poems and travels from her life in Japan through to her more recent experiences in Australia. It is translated by Amelia Fielden, a Donald Keene Award winner and prefaced by Kathy Kituai.
Saeko’s tanka collection, ‘Michibata no Ishi,’ has been received favourable reviews; it was presented in the ‘Monthly Topic’ of Tanka Ō-rai, a Tanka Journal and also in the daily column of The Yomiuri Shimbun, one of Japan's leading national daily newspapers.
