In his later "Mammals of Australia" Gould notes "In disposition it appeared to be more slothful than the terrestrial Kangaroos" and that it "...is a native of New Guinea, where it was discovered by Dr W. Fine hand coloured lithograph heightened with gum arabic, 52.2 x 35.5cm (plate size), 55.5 x 37.8cm (sheet size), toning at the plate mark and to the margins, verso of the plate browned, but the face of the plate clean and unmarked, small stitch holes to the inner margin. A very good example.
