Sutra!) - representingthe important group of Avatamsaka Sutras.' This appears to be a student work and although there is no attributed author, one of Basham's handwritten comments on the text addresses Eggermont. 2 typescript manuscripts bound together with annotations and corrections in red & blue ink by the author and handwritten comments generally in pencil in Professor A.L. Basham's hand. Loosley inserted is a 1 page hand drawn 'Wheel of Karma and Rebirth according to Theravada scholastic tradition' in pencil. Manila folder cover with torn and marked edges, secured with metal binding strip, with the handwritten name "A.L. Basham, School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London W.C.I." The scholarly text includes: 'Readings in Buddhist Thought', 246pp. And 'Readings in Jain Thought', 94pp. 25.5 x 20cm.
