Colour pictorial map printed on both sides of a long folding sheet, one side printed in full colour, the other in red, black and gray. 29 x 81 cm, some discolouration and staining to the right edge, neat repairs with washi. Good copy.

These fascinating, full colour maps were included as a supplement in the October 1930 issue of 少女倶楽部 (Girls' Club), a highly popular monthly magazine known for its educational content. So great was its popularity that by 1937, the magazine's monthly circulation had soared to nearly half a million copies.


The full colour map beautifully illustrates the domestic produce of Japan and its territories, stretching from Sakhalin all the way to Taiwan. It primarily highlights primary agricultural products and, in some regions, textiles. The reverse side strikingly printed in three colours only features a map detailing Japan's imports and exports. This map clearly shows that Japan largely imported raw materials from overseas while primarily exporting textiles, especially to North America.
