Scarce travel account by Grattan Geary, then editor of the 'Times of India', with fine engravings.

'This is unquestionably one of the most interesting and valuable books of travel that have been issued during a time when literature of the kind may be said to be “the rage.” It is written with all the vivacity of a first-rate special correspondent... a book which will tempt its readers into imaginary rambles... it is also an extremely useful and timely contribution to the literature of Anglo-Oriental politics.' (London Examiner, Dec 14, 1878).
