Colour folding map, information on Manchuria on reverse, folded 21 x 10.5 cm. Tinly holes at fold points, very good copy.

The South Manchurian Railway Corporation published this beautifully coloured bird’s-eye view map of Manchuria around 1930 or earlier, as it labels the city as Changchun rather than Xinjing, the name adopted when Manchukuo established its new capital. The map conveys the vast scale of Manchuria and highlights the presence of Russia to the north..

On the reverse, there is detailed information about Manchuria, covering topics such as topography, climate, wildlife, mineral resources, and the local population. Japanese settlement in the region appears to be in its early stages, but the accompanying pamphlet strongly encourages further migration to Manchuria to take advantage of its natural resources.
