This attractive brochure, published by Osaka Shosen (OSK Line), features on its cover a beachside town with characteristic red-roofed houses. Osaka Shosen’s ship Taizan-maru connected Kobe and Qingdao via Moji on a two-day voyage. The brochure includes a Qingdao city map with a regional inset, along with an outline of the city, sailing timetables, fares, and information on connecting rail services.

The major commercial port city of Qingdao in China. Germany established a concession in Qingdao 1898, which Japan assumed control of after World War I before returning it to China in 1922. Japan occupied the area again from 1937 until the end of World War II.
