Striking colour woodblock folding map of the Americas, 56 x 50cm, folds into 19 x 12.5cm yellow paper covered card covers, slightly soiled and worn with paper title label. A little browning or staining along folds and at corners, some small holes and wear along folds now neatly repaired. Still a very good copy of a striking map.

This brilliantly coloured map of the western hemisphere from 1879 features the Americas. Each state within the United States is represented by a different colour with its name written in kanji. Green bands show high mountain ridges, such as Rocky Mountains. An inset map on upper right corner gives a more detailed map of the eastern states.
