Fine engraving of the colonial fortification now known as Fort Metal Cross in Princes Town, Ghana. First appearing in the great 18th Century compilation of voyages by Prevost, "Histoire Generale des Voyages", this fine engraving is from Volume 4 of Schwabe's "Allgemeine Historie der Reisen" (1747 - 1774). Fort Metal Cross was completed in the 1690s by Brandenburg Prussia, transferred to Dutch control and then to the British in the 19th Century.
