London. The Illustrated London News, May 24, 1873. Stock ID #179980 Atmospheric and detailed composition engraved by the firm of Joseph Swain (Oxford, 1820 - Ealing, 1908). Swain was one of the finest wood engravers (and interpreters of artists' work) of the Victorian era, noted for his contributions to "Punch" and wood engravings after designs by some of the most distinguished English artists of the time.
