A tranquil view of Hong Kong as a small town drawn "from Nature" by William Heine, with figures after daguerrotypes by Eliphalet Brown and prepared for Commodore Perry's "Narrative of the Expedition of an American Squadron to the China Seas and Japan...". Stone quarrying for building can be seen in the foreground--in a landscape which is now Victoria Park. Lithographed by Sarony & Co. New York.
