Keisai Eisen (1790-1848), a pupil of Kikugawa Eizan, was a prolific artist known for his diverse subjects, including "bijin" (beautiful women), shunga prints (erotic prints), and landscapes. Notably, he collaborated with Hiroshige on a landscape series, with Hiroshige completing the series when Eisen had a dispute with the publisher. An interesting detail is the use of alphabet characters as graphic symbols for framing the print, adding a unique and distinctive touch to the composition.
