Hornabrook, principally of note for his work in anaesthesia, expounding his views on supposed sabre-rattling towards Japan by Australia and Britain. Hornabrook himself was a veteran of the First World War, and one of his sons would later die as a POW on the Thai-Burma Railway. When referring to this item please quote stockid 215421.

Decidedly Mosley-esque in its rhetoric, within are sentiments of overt racism (particularly towards the Chinese and Americans), conspiratorial ramblings regarding the Soong family and Soviet influence in China, and a populist-isolationist stream of thought culminating in a call for the British Empire to disengage with the United States and to withdraw from the League of Nations in favour of Japan. Hornabrook concludes his essay with a prediction that the Empire will undergo an ominously ill-defined (presumably fascist) revolution should she be drawn into a conflict between Japan and the United States.
A fascinating glimpse into an enduring, chimeric, and persistently myopic political movement.
