The Sun Photo Times started its publication on April 1946 as a tabloid evening newspaper, owned by Mainichi Newspaper. The main emphasis of the newspaper was its numerous photographic illustrations. This collection of photographs was published in 1989 and covers news and events of 1946. They include elections of women representatives in the Diet, scenes from the black market, the Emperor's visits throughout Japan, and Japanese popular culture. This volume was the first one of the series of 15.
