This brightly coloured sheet features three pictorial maps depicting the Russo-Japanese War’s progress. The main map illustrates the railway to Mukden and the mobilisation of Japanese troops along its route. The lower left map shows Port Arthur and its capture by Japanese forces, while the lower right map depicts Vladivostok and the Russian Pacific Fleet’s home port. An inset chart lists the deployed divisions and their commanders, along with senior officers referred to with the a-typical honourific “-kun”.

On the reverse, there is a list of Russian warships in the Pacific Fleet, their distances from Port Arthur, and a brief war chronicle. Produced and published in a country town in Niigata, this print reflects the high level of public interest in the conflict.
